For solar panels up to 130 watts.
The MPPT regulator is a multi-stage solar battery charging regulator with Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) technology. Its main advantages lie in how the regulator is controlled. The regulator uses microprocessors to manage the charging.
The regulator compares the battery voltage with the solar panel voltage and then calculates the point at which maximum current can be extracted, adjusting the voltage to the battery accordingly. When conditions change, a new point is calculated to continuously maximise the output from the solar panel.
Compared to a standard (PWM) pulse width modulation regulator, an MPPT regulator can increase output by 5-30%. The increase in output can be affected by factors such as the condition of the solar panel, humidity, and how strongly the sun shines on the panel. The regulator is designed for wall mounting.
The connection terminals allow for the use of thicker cables, thereby reducing losses in the cables.
