Glycol – more than just frost protection

As you may already know, Alde Heating Systems are water-based. This means that a mixture of glycol and water is heated in a boiler and then circulates through a pipe system that releases heat via convectors, underfloor heating, towel warmers, etc.
The glycol not only prevents frost damage but also has a caring and protective effect on the system.
The properties of the glycol fluid deteriorate over time, and therefore the fluid should be changed every two years. If you use Alde Premium Glycol G12, the replacement interval can be extended to every 5 years under normal operation.

Functions of the glycol fluid
• Frost protection.
• Corrosion protection. Inhibitors form a protective film on the inside of the system.
• Prevents bacterial growth.
• Facilitates circulation and provides a pleasant and balanced heating system.

Which glycol should I choose?
• Choose a high-quality ethylene glycol for aluminium engines that contains inhibitors; read the specifications.
• The glycol fluid should consist of 50% concentrated glycol and 50% distilled water, or water free from salts.
• We recommend Alde Premium Glycol G12, as it is specially adapted for Alde Heating Systems.

When you have changed the glycol fluid, you know that your system contains the right mixture of glycol and water. The risk of frost and corrosion damage and bacterial growth is minimised. Give your Alde Heating System the best conditions to provide even and comfortable heat.

Antifreeze G12 EVO replaces the previous Antifreeze Premium G13 and these can be mixed and can therefore also be used when topping up the heating system

With a five-year lifespan
Our pre-mixed glycol is specially adapted for Alde Heating Systems and can be used down to -37 °C. The environmentally friendly premium glycol has several advantages. In addition to frost protection and a long-lasting protective layer against corrosion, it lubricates circulation pumps and helps to prevent bacterial growth. If you use Alde Premium Glycol G12, the replacement interval can be extended to every 5 years under normal operation.
