The AK 161/AK 270 coupling for braked trailers up to 2700 kg is the safest of its kind. When the coupling is open, the handle points diagonally upwards, indicating to the user that it is open. Only when the coupling is correctly positioned on the vehicle's towing device will the internal green safety lever be activated, allowing the coupling to be securely locked. This prevents a false locking.

The Soft-Touch handle consists of a solid metal core with an ergonomically shaped, soft plastic cover. Additionally, the bulge at the end of the handle prevents the hand from slipping. The wear indicator provides information about the condition of the coupling and the towing device on the vehicle. As long as the marking is within the positive range, the trailer coupling is faultless.

Soft-Dock is standard. This protects the user's shins from injury and the vehicle from scratches. The AK 161/AK 270 offers effective protection against quick theft in both connected and disconnected positions, available as an option with a push lock.
